Wilayat Shinas

One of the coastal Wilayas in Al Batinah North, is bordered to the north by the United Arab Emirates, to the south by Liwa, to the east by the Gulf of Oman, and to the west by Mahdah.

Among the tourist attractions in the Wilayat are mangrove little trees growing along the coast (Qurum Natural Park), in addition to Wadi Al Ghalela and Wadi Al Aswad.

There are many towers in Shinas, about 35 towers, the most important of which are: Al Murayr overlooking the beach and Al Aswad.

The Wilayat is distinguished by castles, forts, and archaeological towers; the most important of which are: Shinas Castle, and its forts include Rissat Al Milh, Khadrawin, Ajeeb, and Asrar Fort.

Residents there engage in a number of economic activities, such as fishing, agriculture, livestock and poultry farming livestock, apiaries, handicrafts, and metal works.


Shinas is approximately 284 km from the capital, Muscat.
