Providing recommendations concerning public health.

Suggesting procedures that ensure environmental protection from pollution.

Proposing projects and the locations of their execution location considering water, roads, parks, drainage, lights, schools, houses, houses of worship, health and commercial centers, parking spots, and other public services, facilities, and projects people are concerned about, as well as conducting the required collaborations thereof.

Proposing the development of public parks, gardens, and entertainment areas, protecting shores from corrosion and pollution, and collaborating with competent authorities in this regard.

Monitoring the execution of systems related to lights, water, drainage, and other systems of public facilities in collaboration with the competent authorities.

Developing systems for advertisement, and rules for commercial and public stores’ signboards in collaboration with the competent authorities.

Proposing the establishment of markets, slaughterhouses, and landfills, their regulations, and coordinating with the competent authorities in this regard.

Proposing regulations for waste collection and disposal or recycling thereof in accordance with the latest scientific and economic methods and coordinating with the competent authorities in this regard.

Proposing regulations for public venues, restaurants, cafes, commercial and industrial stores, hazardous stores, and stores that are disturbing, harmful to health, street vendors, and coordinating with the competent authorities in this regard.

Participating with the competent authorities in determining the public benefit in development projects, in light of the conditions stipulated by the law of expropriation for the public interest.

Participating in setting regulations for controlling stray and loose animals, upon coordination with the competent authorities.

Proposing names for districts, plans, places, and roads and coordinating with the competent authorities in this regard.

Participating with the competent authorities in the study and development of structural and public urban plans and providing recommendations regarding the organization of the plans of residential, commercial, industrial, and tourism areas.

Proposing the placement and construction of public parking for vehicles and ship docks and coordinating with the competent authorities in this regard.

Investigating complaints submitted by citizens and other entities regarding the issues that fall under the jurisdiction of the Council, as well as requesting information from the competent authorities that is necessary for the consideration of such complaints.

Providing recommendations on the organization of the plans of residential, commercial, and industrial areas and coordinating with the competent authorities in this regard.

Proposing the imposition, amendment, or cancellation of municipal fees, as well as their collection methods, and coordinating with the competent authorities in this regard.

Monitoring the execution of service projects in the governorate and providing comments to the competent authorities in this regard.

Participating with the competent authorities and expressing opinions in advance in the event of exploitation of any public facility within the governorate.

Study social issues and negative phenomena in the governorate and propose appropriate solutions thereto, in cooperation with the competent authorities.

Approving the holding of cultural, entertainment, and tourism festivals, upon coordinating with the competent authorities.

Proposing regulations for the operations of taxis and public transportation and coordinating with the competent authorities in this regard.
