Wilayat Al Suwaiq

Overlooks the Gulf of Oman to the north, and is bordered to the south by Tawi Haqayn, Rustaq, to the east by Al Mussanah, and to the west by Al-Khaboura.

Al Suwaiq contains water springs and creeks, among which are: Al Rahab, Safat Al Ain, Jubayjib, Umm Al Masamat, and Khor Dhayan Al-Busaid. The Wilayat also contains 36 streams.

Al Suwaiq contains a number of valleys, such as: Wadi Al Lasdani, Wadi Al Jihawer and Wadi Al Hailain.

There are many historic landmarks in the Wilayat, such as Al Suwaiq Castle, Husn A'Tharmad, Al Hilal Wall, Al Mugabsha Fort, in addition to a number of historic villages, such as Bidit Village.

Al Suwaiq is famous for many crafts and professions, the most prominent of which are: trading, manufacturing of silver items, palmettes, and Omani sweets, as well as agriculture, fishing, and livestock breeding.

Al Suwaiq is famous for many arts, including: Razah, Al Qasabi, Tashah Shah, Al Ayyala, Al Dan Dan, Al Liwa, Al Mawlid, Al Taghrooda, Al Diwan.
