Wilayat Al-Khaboura


Bordered by a number of Wilayats, as it is bordered to the southeast by Al Suwaiq, to the southwest by Ibri, to the northwest by Saham, and to the northeast by the Gulf of Oman.


The Wilayat has a huge number of villages, up to 198 villages approximately. The villages vary between plain, coastal, and mountainous.

The population of the Wilayat is roughly eighty thousand, who are known for upholding indigenous Arab traditions.


The Wilayat is characterized by its tourist attractions which vary between castles and forts, the most popular of which are Al-Khaboura Fort, towers and walls.


Residents engage in agriculture, fishing, sheep herding, manufacturing of daggers, palm frond boats, copper items, gauze ships, copper, candy, boats, pottery, weaving, and jewelry.

Al-Khaboura is famous for folk arts such as: Razah, Wahabiya, Al Taghrooda, Al Tarek, Al Wana, Al Maidan, Al Kosa, Al Liwa, Al Mawlid, Al Azi.
