Wilayat Suhar
Bordered to the north by Liwa, to the south by Saham, to the east by the Gulf of Oman, and to the west by Al-Buraimi.
Suhar is rich with green spaces, gardens, and parks, such as the Silver Jubilee Public Park, Suhar Public Garden, Suhar Entertainment Center, Almenyal Beach Park, and Al Sanger Park.
Suhar has a number of valleys such as: Wadi Aahan, Wadi Haybi, Wadi Al Jazi, Wadi Al-Halti.
Suhar is bursting with many archaeological sites, the most famous of which is the Suhar Castle, which holds a 24 km tunnel to the west.
The Wilayat’s location overlooking the sea has driven a large portion of its population to engage in fishing and the manufacturing of its tools, such as nets and traps. Its residents also worked in agriculture.
The Wilayat is famous for many traditional arts such as: Al Ayyala, Wahabiya, Razah, Al Mawlid, and Al-Liwaa.
